Exclusive Timepiece for the 911 GT3 Drivers

Timepieces

Porsche Design has unveiled new timepieces for the Porsche 911 GT3 drivers. The Chronograph 911 GT3 reflects the precision and dynamism of the sports car.

Chronograph 911 GT3

The case of the Chronograph 911 GT3 is made of ultra-light titanium and is available in a glass-bead blasted version or with an optional matte black titanium carbide coating. The Porsche Design caliber WERK 01.200 with COSC certification has a flyback function that can be used to stop, reset and restart a running time measurement at the touch of a button. The bezel can be fitted with either a pulsometer, tachymeter or minute scale. The pulsometer version makes it possible to measure the pulse mechanically, without a battery or disturbing magnetic fields.

Sports Car on the Wrist

The new GT dial with hexagonal structure ensures optimum legibility thanks to the clear design of the indices, a yellow ring and black rhodium-plated hour and minute hands with Super-LumiNova luminous material. This design can also be found on the instrument panel of the 911 GT3 because the Sport Chrono GT additional instrument developed by Porsche Design exclusively for Porsche’s GT models matches the look of the chronograph.

The hands of the chronograph can be configured in the colors Performance (white), Essence (black) and GT (yellow). The seconds disc at the 9 o’clock position is marked with the lettering “911 GT3” and a chequered flag design. The customizable colored ring around the dial is available in the various colors of the 911 GT3 and the Touring Package as well as in the colors of the “Paint to Sample” program. This allows customers to personalize their vehicle and chronograph with a wide range of special colors. The colored ring, dial and hands are protected by a hard-coated sapphire crystal and are optimally legible thanks to the sevenfold anti-reflective coating on both sides.

The case back is also made of sapphire crystal, which has a sevenfold anti-reflective coating and is hard-coated. The chronograph is driven by a winding rotor that is based on the respective design of the rims of the 911 GT3 or 911 GT3 with Touring Package down to the last detail and is available in the respective colors, including California Gold, Brilliant Silver, Dark Silver and Black (satin). Owners of the 911 GT3 with Weissach Package or 911 GT3 Touring with Lightweight Package can also select the exclusive “911 GT3 Weissach Rotor”. The Black rotor cap is decorated with “GT3” lettering in Brilliant Silver or a two-tone Porsche Crest.

Strap Made from Original Vehicle Leather

The strap of the Chronograph 911 GT3 or 911 GT3 Touring is made of original Porsche vehicle leather and yarn. The calfskin straps with titanium double folding clasp (in case finish) are available in various sizes and can be easily exchanged thanks to a quick-change mechanism. Alternatively, there is a titanium bracelet with a titanium folding clasp with fine adjustment in case finish (glass bead blasted or with black titanium carbide coating).

After customer-specific configuration and production by hand at Porsche’s own watchmaking manufactory in Solothurn, Switzerland, the chronograph can be received in an exclusive limited-edition box. A laser-engraved plaque with an individual engraving, matching the vehicle, completes the package.

The Porsche Design Chronograph 911 GT3 and the Chronograph 911 GT3 Touring will be available to order from end of the year from €10,250 (RRP) in Porsche centers and Porsche Design Stores worldwide exclusively to buyers of the new Porsche 911 GT3 or 911 GT3 with Touring Package. Further information is available at porsche-design.com.
