Take a Look – 2013 Porsche Boxster Exterior
Porsche unveiled the 981-generation Boxster in 2012. Let’s see how cool the 2013 Porsche Boxster exterior looks like.
2013 Porsche Boxster Exterior
The 2013 Porsche Boxster showed a completely new look, but kept the classic roadster design. With shorter overhangs, a significantly forward windshield, a smoother silhouette and larger wheels, the third-generation Porsche Boxster has a sporty look.
The vertical contour of the headlights is borrowed from Porsche race cars of the 1960s and 1970s. Large, imposing air intakes give the front a powerful appearance. The long wheelbase and low, angled windshield are integral to the design’s stretched, wedge-like silhouette. When the hood is closed, this impression is reinforced by a very sporty roofline.
The exclusive door styling reflects other Porsche design developments. But it’s not just stylish, it has a clear function. The dynamic contouring improves airflow to the side air intakes. The exterior mirrors are mounted directly on the doors for impressive aerodynamics and low wind noise.
Sexy Rear End
The rear wing deploys automatically to reduce lift. When retracted, the separating edge of the spoiler makes a seamless transition to the LED taillights. The narrow direction indicators seem to extend the rear wing further. The reversing light and rear fog light are placed in the center under the rear fender. The stainless steel exhaust, or twin-exhaust in the Boxster S, is integrated into the center of the diffuser. This completes the powerful rear end.
As standard, the Boxster is equipped with 18-inch wheels with a minimalist five-spoke design. The Boxster S has 19-inch wheels with a dynamic dual-spoke design. Even larger wheels, up to 20 inches in size, were available as an option. They emphasise the car’s wide track and help to achieve a completely new level of athletic performance.
