2005 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe – 10 Fast Facts

3.6-Litre Flat-Six

2005 Porsche 911 Carrera is powered by a 3.6-litre flat-six engine. This 6-cylinder power unit delivers 239 kW (325 bhp) at 6,800 rpm and 370 Nm of torque at 4,250 rpm.

Six-speed Gearbox Tailored to the Car

Porsche 911 comes as standard with a six-speed manual gearbox. Porsche shortened the gear-lever throw shortened by 15 percent compared to the previous 911 manual transmissions. This means faster gearshifts with minimal effort from the driver.

Tiptronic S as an Option

The Tiptronic S transmission was an option for the 911 Carrera. Tiptronic S offers five drive modes. In automatic mode, Tiptronic S selects one of the five patterns to match the driving style. In manual mode, driver can change gears by hand using rocker controls located on the steering wheel.

Precise and Agile

The 911 Carrera comes for the first time with rack-and-pinion steering featuring a variable transmission ratio responding even more smoothly and precisely to the driver’s commands and thus enhancing the car’s agility particularly on winding roads and in sharp bends.

Sporty Soundtrack

Porsche’s performance is delivered with a sporty soundtrack. Carrera comes as standard with a lighweight stainless-steel exhaust system. Sport exhaust with four exhaust pipes was available as an option.

Hi-Perf Brakes

Stopping power is provided by four-piston fixed callipers. The cross-drilled, inner-vented brake discs have a diameter of 318 mm at the front axle and 299 mm at the rear.

Optional Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes

The Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) with yellow brake callipers were available as an option. The PCCB brake discs are made from a carbon-fiber/ceramic compound.

Porsche Stability Management

The standard Porsche Stability Management (PSM) delivers assistance in challenging driving situations. If the car begins to oversteer or understeer, PSM applies selective braking on individual wheels to bring the car back into line. Just to keep you safe.

18-Inch Wheels

Porsche 911 Carrera is equipped with 18-inch wheels with 235/40 ZR 18 front, and 265/40 ZR 18 rear tyres.
