Six-Cylinder Engine
The 2021 Porsche 718 Boxster GTS is powered by a 4.0-litre six-cylinder engine. It is equipped with direct fuel injection (DFI), an integrated dry sump lubrication and an adaptive cylinder control. The 4.0-litre engine delivers maximum power of 294kW (400PS). The maximum torque is 420 Newton metres.
It Revs
This naturally aspirated engine effortlessly revs up to 7,800 rpm. Thanks to the standard sports exhaust system with dynamic damper control, it also sounds amazing. The maximum torque is available between 5,000 and 6,500 rpm, while the maximum engine output of 400 PS is delivered at 7,000 rpm.
Sports Exhaust
The Boxster GTS features a dual-tailpipe sports exhaust system with integrated gasoline particulate filter, borrowed from the 718 Spyder. With its saddle-type design, this creates space for the contrasting black rear lower section that was specially developed for the GTS models.
Six-Speed Manual Or PDK
The precise six-speed manual transmission is fitted with a dual-mass flywheel. It ensures an extraordinarily sporty driving experience. The GTS was optional available with the PDK transmission. It offers four different driving modes (Normal, Sport, Sport Plus and Individual). The Launch Control is also integrated within Sport Plus, which activates an automatic race start.
Rear Differential Lock
The Boxster GTS is fitted with the Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV) as standard. The integrated rear differential lock enables higher traction. It also significantly increased lateral dynamics and vehicle stability during load changes in corners and when changing lanes. PTV also enables outstanding steering behaviour and therefore even greater agility.
Porsche Active Suspension Management
Thanks standard Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) sports suspension offers an optimal balance of dynamic handling and everyday comfort. The electronic damping control system continuously adjusts the damping force on each wheel, based on driving style and current road conditions. It offers two settings. In “Normal” mode, the shock absorption is a blend of sporty and comfortable, while in “Sport” it’s much firmer.
Sport Chrono Package
The Sport Chrono Package is a standard feature. It enables an even sportier tuning of the chassis, engine and transmission. In addition to the stopwatch and four selectable driving modes on the GT sports steering wheel, it includes dynamic transmission mounts. These combine the advantages of a hard and soft transmission mounting arrangement and thus increase both driving stability and driving comfort.
20″ Wheels
The Boxster GTS 4.0 is fitted with 20-inch light-alloy wheels in Satin-Gloss Black. Tyre size is 235/35 ZR 20 on the front axle and 265/35 ZR 20 at the rear.
Braking Performance
The braking performance is delivered by the high-performance brake system. It features six-piston aluminium monobloc fixed brake callipers with 350 mm brake discs on the front axle. At the rear there are four-cylinder callipers and 330 mm discs.
How Fast is It?
The 2021 Porsche 718 Boxster GTS 4.0 with the manual transmission can sprint from zero to 60 mph in 4.3 seconds and to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds. With the PDK transmission the sprint to 60 mph takes 3.8 seconds and 100 km/h can be reached in 4.0 seconds. The top speed is 288 km/h with the PDK an 293 with the manual.
