Brilliant Blue Metallic 1991 Porsche 911 Reimagined by Singer
Singer Vehicle Design is known for unique Porsche 911 restoration projects. Named The Oppenheimer Commission, this 1991 Porsche 911 Reimagined by Singer – DLS (Dynamics and Lightweighting Study) features a really cool blue colour, which isn’t a Porsche orignal.
Powered by a 4.0-litre flat six-cylinder air-cooled engine, this car was built in collaboration with Williams Advanced Engineering. Williams redesigned front and rear suspension, braking system with Brembo carbon ceramic disc brakes and the mighty engine. The car comes with bespoke Michelin tyres fitted on unique 18-inch BBS wheels.
The name of the car is inspired by the Oppenheimer Blue diamond, a 14.62-carat vivid blue diamond that is the largest fancy vivid blue diamond classified by the Gemological Institute of America ever sold at auction. And this car easily earns it’s blue diamond name.
The exterior paint colour isn’t a Porsche original, but borrowed from another brand. The name of the colour is Mercedes-Benz Brilliant Blue Metallic. It looks quite amazing on a Porsche 911, doesn’t it. The bare carbon trim provide a wonderful visual contrast to the paintwork. This can be seen in the Porsche lettering on the decklid and trim lines along the front and rear bumpers. The taillights, which have been smoked as to not distract from the car’s colour scheme, are a seldom-seen $18,000 Singer option.
Interior is combo of leather, carbon fibre, and a splash of Alcantara. The main leather colour is Cream, and this is contrasted by Navy Blue Alcantara perfectly matched to the navy-blue carbon fibre trim. The Recoro bucket seats boast a bespoke weave in the seat centers with a double offset stripe finished in navy blue.
