The 981-generation Boxster (and Cayman) models were manufactured between 2012 and 2016.
Predecessor
The 981 followed the second generation, known as the 987 Porsche Boxster.
Successor
The 981 was followed by the fourth generation, known as the 982 Boxster.

A total of 54,374 cars of the 981 -generation models were manufactured.
