Matrix LED Headlights Standard in the 992.2
With the 2025 update, Porsche has not just redesigned the front end, but has also upgraded the lightning technology. In the new Porsche 911 (992.2) all frontal lighting functions are integrated into the characteristic headlights of the 911.
Matrix LED Headlights as Standard
The Matrix LED headlights are now a standard feature in the 911. The headlights feature three-dimensional moulded light modules and the quintessential Porsche four-point daytime running lights. They don’t just look cool, but are also smart. Supported by the info from the camera and navigation data, the Matrix LED headlights divide the main beam area into 11 segments, which are faded in or out depending on the situation. The result is a glare-free high beam.
HD-Matrix LED Lights as an Option
If you want even more powerful headlights for the dark roads, Porsche has an option for that. The HD-Matrix LED headlights are available for the first time in the 911. With more than 32000 pixels per headlamp, this lighting system generates a high-resolution, digital light image that covers the entire high beam range as well as the main area of the low beam.
Each individual pixel can be activated, deactivated or dimmed in 1,024 steps. This creates a homogeneous light field that adapts instantly to the driving situation. The HD-Matrix LED headlights introduce also many new adaptive functions, including the lane illumination, roadworks and narrow-lane lighting, marker light and a dedicated motorway high beam. There are also special light modes for driving in rain or fog, at junctions, when turning or on bends.
When another vehicle is detected, the system automatically switches back to HD-Matrix mode. If the system does not detect a vehicle in front or an oncoming vehicle when the automatic high beam is activated, the auxiliary high beam switches on and increases the amount of light from 1,400 to 2,500 lumens. The auxiliary high beam illuminates the road to a distance of more than 600 metres. If another vehicle is detected, the system automatically switches back to HD-Matrix mode.
