2021 Porsche 911 Targa 4 – 10 Fast Facts
3.0-Litre Engine
The 2021 Porsche 911 Targa 4 is powered by a 3.0-litre, six-cylinder, twin-turbocharged boxer engine. The same power source which is used in the 911 Carrera models.
385 Horsepower
The six-cylinder engine produces 283 kW (385 PS) at 6,500 rpm. The maximum torque is 450 newton metres. It is available on a wide engine speed range between 1,950 and 5,000 rpm.
Sport Exhaust
The exhaust system of the 911 Targa includes map-controlled and fully variable exhaust flaps, which help to deliver an emotive aural experience. The standard exhaust of the 911 Targa 4 features two single tailpipe finishers, while the optional sports exhaust system can be recognised by its two oval exhaust outlets.
8-Speed PDK
The 911 Targa 4 is equipped as standard with the eight-speed PDK (dual clutch) transmission. Compared to the previously used 7-speed PDK, all gears have new ratios. First gear is shorter and eighth gear longer. The taller final-drive ratio reduces the engine speeds in higher gears. This makes longer journeys more comfortable.
All-Wheel Drive
The all-wheel drive with the Porsche Traction Management (PTM) system provides optimised traction in all road conditions. PTM’s electronically controlled and fully variable multi-plate clutch distributes drive force between the front and and the rear axle to ensure the optimal distribution of power in every driving situation.
Porsche Active Suspension Management
The Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) is standard feature in the 911 Targa 4. It automatically adjusts the damping characteristics in terms of driving comfort and handling to each driving situation. PASM offers two manually adjustable maps: Normal and Sport.
Mixed Tyres
The 911 Targa 4 is equipped with mixed tyres. At the front axle, the tyre size is 235/40 ZR19. At the rear, there are 295/35 ZR20 tyres. The different wheel dimensions front and rear help the new car build up even higher cornering forces and further improve traction.
Stopping Power
The braking power is provided by four-piston monobloc fixed callipers with 330 mm brake discs on both front and reax axles. In the 911 Targa 4, the brake callipers are finished in black.
How Fast is It?
The 2021 Porsche 911 Targa 4 can accelerate from zero to 60 mph in 4.2 seconds, and to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds. With the Sport Plus mode activated, the sprint to 60 mph takes just 4.0 seconds, and to 100 km/h 4.2 seconds.
Top Speed
The top speed of the Porsche 911 Targa 4 is 289 km/h (180 mph).
