Take a Look – 2006 Porsche Cayman S Exterior

Porsche Cayman (987)

Porsche unveiled a completely new sport car in 2005. Let’s see how cool the exterior of the 2006 Porsche Cayman S looks.

2006 Porsche Cayman S Exterior

At first sight, it looks likes a typical Porsche sports car. At the same time, however, its autonomous design ensures that it stands out against the Boxster and 911 Carrera. The new front is accentuated by oval main headlamps and distinctive air inlets, which channel cooling air to the car’s twin radiators and brakes. The fog lights and sidelights are neatly positioned within the radiator openings.

The lower apron provides downforce to keep the front end grounded at high speeds, while the low-lying front trunk lid reduces drag. The raked headlamps and wheel arches present an almost seamless surface to the wind.

The characteristic silhouette of the Cayman S owes itself to the long wheelbase and a coupe roofline that provides an unbroken curve from the windshield frame to the car’s powerful rear section. To the rear of the door, the lower window edge makes a dramatic upward surge. Above the side windows are two additional lines which channel the roof into the rear. While one line meets with the rear window surround, the other continues its path as far as the taillight.

At the rear, a biplane spoiler is neatly tucked between the rear arches. The spoiler’s upper wing is automatically extended at 75 mph to generate additional downforce. The distinctively styled dual exhaust outlet is located centrally below the fenders. The Cayman S was fitted as standard with 18-inch wheels.
