Porsche Boxster (987) SportDesign Package

Porsche Boxster (987)

In 2006, Porsche introduced a new SportDesign Package available for the 987 Porsche Boxster and Boxster S models. To make the sports car even more special, the Porsche Boxster SportDesign Package included spoiler lips for mounting on the standard front trim, an automatically extending, redesigned rear spoiler, and a modified rear trim with an integrated diffuser.

While providing even sportier appearance, the SportDesign package also improved aerodynamics. It reduced the lifting forces on the front and rear axles without increasing air resistance. The shape of the rear trim with the integrated diffuser was inspired by the high-performance Porsche Carrera GT hypercar.

The automatically extending rear spoiler, which was designed according to the divided wing principle, contributed further to this association. All of the SportDesign package’s attractive components were painted in the vehicle’s exterior color to blend in harmoniously with the Boxster’s dynamic visuals.

In Germany, the price of the package was 4,060 Euros (model year 2007) with a new vehicle. For retrofitting, it was available from Porsche Tequipment for 3,422 Euros plus fitting.
