The heart of the 2020 Porsche 718 Spyder is a naturally aspirated, high-revving six-cylinder 4.0-litre boxer engine. Based on the same engine family as the turbocharged power sources in the 911 Carrera models, this six-cylinder engine was designed to deliver direct responsiveness and striking sound.

420 PS & 420 Nm

The maximum power output of the 4.0-litre six-cylinder engine is 309 kW (420 PS) at 7,600 rpm. The maximum torque of 420 Newton metres is available between 5,000 and 6,800 rpm.

Sport Exhaust

The engine can rev up to 8,000 rpm. To deliver its exciting flat-six sounds, an entirely new sport exhaust system was designed for the Spyder and Cayman GT4.

Six-Speed Manual

The car came as standard with a six-speed manual grearbox. The PDK transmission was avaible as an option. The manual includes an “Auto Blip” function, which automatically matches gearbox and engine speeds during a downshift. This feature can be individually activated or deactivated at the touch of a button.

Mechanical Limited-Slip Differential

At the rear, a standard mechanical limited-slip differential with Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV) help maintain optimum traction. When a greater amount of drive torque is distributed to the outside rear wheel, the steering response in improved and agility increased.

Porsche Active Suspension Management

The 718 Spyder is equipped as standard with the Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM). This variable damping system offers continuous adjustment of the damping force on each wheel based on the driving style and. Driver can choose between two programs, Normal and Sport, by a push of a button.

20″ Wheels

The Spyder is fitted with specifically designed 20-inch wheels finished in silver color. The tyre size is 245/35 ZR 20 on the front axle and 295/30 ZR 20 on the rear axle.

Braking Power

The brakes of the 718 Spyder were derived directly from the 911 GT3. The six-piston (front) and four-piston (rear) aluminum monobloc fixed brake calipers are finished in red. The internally vented and crossdrilled brake discs have a diamater of 380 mm (front and rear).

How Fast is It?
